Cindy Chu is an award-winning 1st generation Taiwanese American writer, filmmaker, and actress from Queens, New York. In this episode, we talk about her journey of becoming a writer, the inspiration she finds in Issa Rae, and how she created her first TV series based on her own Asian American experience growing up in Queens. She also shares about her upcoming film Bayard Street and her journey of writing a film about her immigrant parents’ love story.
